Make a change to LED's

Understanding your electrical power consumption of your home. The concept can be understood like the gasoline you pay at the pump. You want your home to be as energy efficient as possible. To save you money, short term and long term.

Know one buys a vehicle without understanding the consumption of fuel it uses per kilometer, but yet lots of people have no idea how much energy there home uses on a daily basis. Your power bill is a direct reflection of that, similar to the amount of gas you purchase for your vehicle. Its simply just measured hourly. If you have a 60 watt bulb on for and hour the consumption of power is 60watts per hour (60wh) or (0.06kwh). Power consumption in your home can be dramatically changed by making energy efficient choices. For example if you if you have forty 60watt bulbs in your home on for an average of an hour per day that is

40 x 60 = 2,400Watts per hour (2.4kwh)

If you make a simple change as to replacing your typical 60 watt bulbs in your home to LED lamps that draws 10watts. Your dramatically reducing your power consumption for your home.

40 x 10 = 400watt per hour (0.4kwh)

Now, if you take those averages over a year

Standard incandescent lamps

2.4kwh x 365 days = (876kwh)

LED lamps

0.4kwh x 365 = (146kwh)

By simply changing your lamps in your home can reduce you power bill by about $60.00 dollars a year. Its not a lot of money, but its money.
